A note from John:
This is my updated list of albums that have proven to generate, via the heterodyne principle, frequencies in the range 5 to 10Hz, needed for optimal vagal stimulation. I will expand this list in the fulness of time. To receive the health benefits, you must listen to any of these albums via good quality headphones that have a frequency response that starts at 5Hz. I recommend Beyer Dynamic DT770 Pro. 32 ohms model for Android devices, PC’s and stereo audio systems. 80 ohms model for all Apple devices and computers. Beyer currently have a special edition version of the DT770 Pro headphones with the model number, DT770 ProX, which has an impedance of 48 ohms and is suitable for all Apple and Android devices, as well as PC’s and stereo systems. When you receive the headphones, you will find that they are fitted with a 6mm (1/4inch) jack plug. The 3.5mm jack plug is hidden inside the 6mm jack plug (a bit like Russian dolls!) so just unscrew the 6mm jack to find the smaller jack inside. Most modern phones, tablets and computers do not accept a 3.5mm jack so you will need to buy an adapter, for example, “female 3.5mm to USB-C plug”, which will enable connection of the headphones to your phone or other device, but please check the specifications of your device so you order the correct adapter.
If you have specific health challenges that vagal stimulation has been shown to support, a minimum of two albums each day is recommended, spread across the day, such as one in the morning and one in the evening. If your intuition guides you to listen to three albums or more each day, know that you cannot overdose on music.
