Multi-Collagen Ultra – “Spark Your Own Ketones to Burn Body Fat” –
This is one of my “go-tos” when we need a big reset. It’s hard for an individual to achieve a true ketogenic state because it involves major caloric and food restrictions. If one can enter ketosis, they will find they have very little hunger, lose weight almost effortlessly, have tons of energy/stamina, and very clear thinking.
We can all take advantage of this state without having to “diet” by using products like multi-collagen by Ancient Nutrition. It is a blend of collagen peptides, bone broth collagen, MCT oil and CBD. The combination of ingredients in this product helps spark our endogenous (self-created) ketones to push us into this ketogenic state.

Chromium GTF – “Lose Weight by Balancing Your Blood Sugar”
Many who have weight loss issues also suffer from blood sugar issues – either diabetic, prediabetic or hypoglycemic. That’s why GLP-1 drugs are also for diabetes, not just for those with a desire to lose weight. Controlling one’s blood sugar levels is imperative for sustained weight control. If the blood sugar is on a brittle up and down roller coaster, one is going to have to eat extra food to control that.
Chromium is referred to as the master regulator of insulin and is a potent metabolic hormone involved in protein, carbohydrate, and fat metabolism. Chromium is essential for neurotransmitter, brain function, insulin performance, thyroid function, and hormonal balance. Studies show it increases lean body mass and decreases percentage of body fat, which may lead to weight loss.
As we age, levels decrease, and it is important to replace it daily. Chromium is plentiful in spices and foods like dandelion, cinnamon, cilantro, and dulse, but often it is hard to get enough in the diet.
In my practice I see a lot of people that have a hard time losing weight. Oftentimes one of the core issues is a build in the body of toxic chromium. This can happen from ingesting city water and toxins in our food supply. This causes the person to have endocrine dysfunction, feel hungry all the time, and crave the wrong types of food. Once they begin supplementing with a good form of chromium, the body slowly comes back into balance.
A typical dose of daily chromium is between 50 – 200 mcg.

Cinnamon – “Adaptogenic and Thermogenic”
There is sufficient evidence that cinnamon alone can help you lose belly fat. When taken along with a balanced diet and regular exercise, cinnamon may help speed up your weight loss journey.
Cinnamon works because of its effect on blood glucose levels and can also help your body ultimately lose weight. The anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties of cinnamon can provide additional help to those trying to lose weight by promoting an overall healthy body that processes food better. It is naturally high in chromium, the chief mineral for blood sugar regulation.
Cinnamon contains other minerals (such as calcium, iron, zinc, magnesium, phosphorus, and potassium), vitamins (such as vitamins C, K and A, and folate), and several other beneficial substances including antioxidants.
Besides managing weight, other benefits of cinnamon include:
- Management of diabetes
- Improved sexual function
- Gut and immune health
- Cardiovascular performance

Berberine – “Become Metabolically Flexible”
Did you know, recent data reveals that only 12% of Americans meet the criteria for metabolic health. That means nearly nine out of 10 individuals are metabolically unhealthy, or inflexible. This means that achieving a desired weight is almost impossible and they are prone to metabolic diseases such as: obesity, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, and cardiovascular disease.
Berberine may be essential to help overcome this metabolic issue. It is extremely effective as a weight loss supplement. In one 12-week study in people with obesity, taking 500 milligrams (mg) of berberine three times per day caused about 5 pounds of weight loss, on average.
Why is this? – It seems that berberine has anti-diabetic/hypoglycemic effects. It is one of the amazing herbs that can switch on the AMPK pathway, which is our body’s main metabolic switch.
The activation of AMPK supports many different functions, including:
- Promoting normal balance of energy, lipids, glucose and insulin.
- Helping to clear fats and sugar from your blood.
- Increasing production of mitochondria.
- Promoting an already normal inflammatory response.
- Aiding your body’s response to stressors.
- Maintaining healthy cells and cellular repair.
A typical daily dose of berberine is between 400 mg to 1,500 mg.

Curcumin – “Weight Loss through Lowered Inflammation”
Curcumin supplementation may promote weight loss and ameliorate obesity-related complications through its antioxidative and anti-inflammatory properties
There are many NIH (National Institute of Health) studies demonstrating curcumin’s ability to aid in weight loss. One study showed that curcumin intake among patients with metabolic syndrome and related disorders was correlated with a significant reduction in BMI, weight, and leptin, and a significant increase in adiponectin levels (a hormone your adipose (fat) tissue releases that helps with insulin sensitivity and inflammation).
It is believed that curcumin exerts protective metabolic effects in dietary obesity, in part through downregulation of adipose tissue inflammation. Animal studies indicate that this compound may promote weight loss, reduce fat tissue growth, curb weight regain, and enhance your sensitivity to the hormone insulin.
Research shows that taking curcumin at a dose of 800 – 1,500 mg/day for 3 months improved weight loss in individuals. Individuals can take as much as 10,000 mg daily. However, high doses are not recommended for the long-term.

Gymnema – “Erase Sugar Cravings”
Wouldn’t it be nice to eat the sweet treats you usually love, and have them lose their appeal? That is exactly what the herb, gymnema is known for. This herb can make sweet foods lose their sweet taste.
Gymnema is a plant used in Ayurveda, an ages-old form of holistic medicine practiced in India. The Hindi term for it is gurmar, which is translated as “sugar destroyer.” This is because gymnema leaves contain a compound called gymnemic acid that suppresses the taste of sugar.
There are even some studies that suggest that gymnema may block sugar and fat absorption in the body, the effect of which may be useful in treating obesity, diabetes, and high cholesterol. Besides its ability to help fight sugar cravings, gymnema has been shown to lower high blood sugar levels, help fight inflammation, aid weight loss, and lower “bad” LDL cholesterol and triglyceride levels.
A typical daily dose of gymnema is about 100 mg, 3-4 times a day.

Psyllium – “Weight Loss through Elimination”
Psyllium is a type of soluble fiber derived from the husks of the psyllium seed that is used as a bulk-forming laxative. Psyllium husk powder is mixed with water and taken by mouth to treat occasional constipation and maintain bowel movement.
We are living in an era where constipation and bowel issues are not uncommon. Most people have some form of leaky gut. This is due to a whole host of reasons like the application of round up to our soil, overuse of antibiotics and other pharmaceuticals, and parasite infections.
I love using psyllium as a natural laxative because unlike some laxatives, it doesn’t cause contractions of the intestines (like stimulant laxatives – think senna or cascara sagrada) or draw water from the intestine to soften stools (like osmotic laxatives – think magnesium citrate). Instead, it increases the weight and bulk of stools which, in turn, stimulates bowel movements. Unlike other laxatives, psyllium is safe and gentle enough to use every day.
Psyllium husk doesn’t cause weight loss but can aid in weight loss as a supplement to a healthy, balanced diet and regular exercise. Psyllium husk can induce the same feeling of fullness as GLP-1 drugs. It contains more fiber than barley, beans, legumes, oat bran, and some fruits and vegetables. A single teaspoon of ground psyllium husk provides nearly 8 times more soluble fiber by weight compared with oat bran.
Psyllium is also a prebiotic that promotes healthy colonies of probiotics to grow in the gut, improving digestion and strengthening the immune system. It can help to lower cholesterol, relieve constipation and diarrhea, regulate blood glucose levels, and treat GI issues.
Common dosages of psyllium are 5–10 g, before or with meals, at least once daily.

DIM – “Weight Loss from Balanced Hormones”
Diindolylmethane (DIM) is a compound created when you digest cruciferous vegetables, such as broccoli or Brussels sprouts. Research suggests that DIM affects estrogen levels in your body.
Bad estrogen (like xenoestrogens from plastics) can pack on the pounds, especially around your hips and buttocks. However, DIM doesn’t burn fat. Instead, it boosts your body’s capacity to metabolize estrogen, so your lifestyle choices (diet, exercise, etc.) will strongly determine the effectiveness of DIM for weight loss.
DIM assists in the conversion of estrogen to good estrogen metabolites, protects stressed muscle cells and allows more efficient repair and growth. As a result of changing “bad estrogen into good estrogen metabolites, DIM supplements have been gaining popularity as a potential treatment for a variety of hormone-related conditions, including weight gain, acne, menopause symptoms, prostate issues, and certain forms of cancer.
Most people taking DIM will start seeing results in three to four weeks and will see their most significant results and better-looking clear skin after six months.
Typical dosage of DIM ranges between 100-900 mg of DIM daily.
